"Over the past few months, I've spent a lot of time listening to music with my family", Obamawrote as he published the playlist. "I wanted to share some of my favorites from the summer - including songs from some of the artists at this week's [Democratic Convention]". Other artists who were also included are slated to perform at this week's Democratic National Convention.
Wizkid, whose real name is Ayodeji Balogun, is at No. 15 with his new single: "Smile", featuring American Grammy victor, H.E.R.
"As usually, it is a mix of genres that travels as a result of many eras".
And a few real throwbacks, together with Otis Redding's "These Arms of Mine", Bob Marley and The Wailers' "Could You Be Cherished" and Outkast's 1998 observe "Liberation", had been also highlighted in the eclectic combine.
Obama's 11th listed summer song, "Work" by Rihanna features Drake as does his 14th song, "Twist & Turn" by Popcaan which also features Missisaugua's PARTYNEXTDOOR.
Making it to Mr Obama's playlist are three African musicians namely dancehall artiste Shatta Wale, Afrobeat artiste Wizkid and Burna Boy.
Last summer, Obama and his wife Michelle signed a deal with Spotify and announced a series of podcasts under the Higher Ground Productions banner.
