Rapper Silento charged with murdering his older cousin

The 23-year-old rapper known as Silento, who released hit track 'Watch Me (Whip/Nae Nae)' in 2015, has been arrested in the United States for the alleged murder of his cousin. Hawk is in the DeKalb County Jail charged with Murder.

A DKPD investigation later identified Hawk, 23, as the suspect, police said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Neighbors heard several gunshots and alerted authorities, the report says.

Silento hangs out on the red carpet at the 2016 BET Awards at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.

Surveillance footage obtained by investigators showed several cars fleeing the scene and at least one gunshot, according to an incident report obtained by the newspaper.

According to AJC, Police responded to a shots fired call January 21 around 3:30 a.m.in the Panthersville area where they found 34-year-old Frederick Rooks dead on the scene with multiple gunshot wounds.

Silento has been arrested for murdering his cousin.

It reported he was arrested twice in one week in August in connection to domestic violence, and was arrested in October after he was caught going "more than 140 miles per hour on I-85".

The statement didn't elaborate on the circumstances of the death or Hawk's arrest.

The Watch Me (Whip/Nae Nae) hit maker was taken into custody on one count of felony murder.

Hawk's claim to fame was producing the hit dance song "Watch Me (Whip/Nae Nae)", which became a viral sensation in 2015.

His album, "Fresh Outta High School", was released in August 2018.
