In the hair-raising video, the huge brown bear was seen swiping at one of the family's dogs, who ran back after receiving a particularly hard blow.

Hailey Morinico, 17, was captured on video rushing to save her family's four pet dogs as a mother bear with two cubs in tow sat on a wall in the back yard of her Bradbury home, swatting at the pets as they barked.

"Do not push bears and do not get close to bears", she told KCAL-TV. The clip shows the bear with its cubs on a wall, attempting to claw at one of the dogs.

Although the teen is being celebrated for saving her dogs, she told KTLA that she doesn't want others to do what she did, because they might not have the same outcome.

Many people tend to think of their pets as family members, which is why terms like "fur babies" are commonly used to describe our dogs and cats.

The bear sits on top of the fence, with two cubs hiding underneath. A post sharing the video on Reddit has received over 10,000 votes and 3,000 comments in six hours.

TikTok's latest viral video sees a California teen push a brown bear off her garden wall with her bare hands, and it's just as insane as it sounds. "How was your Memorial Day?!".

A person commented: "She did not just fight a whole bear bro".

The bears are common in communities near their natural habitats, like Bradbury, and in urban areas where they are seen those bears "pretty much use it as their home range", she said.

"She shoved that bear like it was a stuffed animal", someone said on TikTok.

In a follow-up video posted to TikTok, Hailey explained what was going through their head in the moment.

But she cautions others against trying similar stunts.

"I go over to the bear, I look it in the eyes and the first thing I think to do is push it. Push a bear, push an apex predator".

"By the time I get there, the bear is literally picking up one of my dogs", Hailey said, showing a picture of Valentina, the "baby" dog who was picked up by the bear.

The teen came out relatively unscathed from the incident, with a sprained finger and a scraped knee.
