US Rapper, Silento, Charged for Killing Cousin

The DeKalb County Police Division introduced the information in a tweet on Monday, writing: "At present, Ricky Hawk, 23, was arrested for the homicide of his cousin Frederick Rooks, 34". The DeKalb Police Department made the official announcement of the arrest on Twitter, which you can see below. Rooks was pronounced lifeless on the scene.

"I think it is connected to this house", said DeKalb police Lt. Rod Bryant.

The publicist for rapper Silento, who was arrested and charged on Monday for the shooting death of his cousin, is asking the public to pray for her client.

A month before that incident, he was arrested in Los Angeles after he allegedly attacked two strangers with an ax.

Hawk rose to prominence in 2015 with his viral hit 'Watch Me (Whip/Nae Nae)'.

According to a report from the The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, police gathered video from the security cameras of several neighboring residences. The song and video were popular for incorporating hip-hop dances from other songs, including Soulja Boy Tell "Em's "Crank That (Soulja Boy)" and the GS Boyz" "Stanky Legg". He was subsequently slapped with an assault charge for the use of a deadly weapon.

The one-hit wonder has not stopped releasing music since 2015, his newest single, "Swish", was just released January 28. A day prior to that arrest, he was held on domestic violence charges at a Santa Ana, Calif., home.
