President-elect Joe Biden has launched a new Twitter handle to build his following before taking command of White House accounts on Inauguration Day.

The announcement detailing participants in the 59th inaugural swearing-In ceremony represents one of the more traditional aspects of Biden's inauguration, which has been largely altered amid the COVID-19 pandemic to accommodate an at-home audience, and faces new concerns over security in the wake of riots at the U.S. Capitol last week that left five dead. Gaga joined Biden on the campaign trail, and has been a vocal advocate for his presidency.

The Celebrating America special will be hosted by two-time Oscar victor Tom Hanks (Philadelphia, Forrest Gump).

The Hanks-hosted primetime special on Wednesday January 20 will start at 8:30 pm Eastern Time (0130 GMT Thursday) and will be aired on ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN and MSNBC. It will also feature performances from Jon Bon Jovi, who campaigned with Biden in Pennsylvania, Demi Lovato, Justin Timberlake and Ant Clemons.

Per the PIC, Celebrating America "will showcase the American people's resilience, heroism and unified commitment to coming together as a nation to heal and rebuild".
