Truck goes airbone after trying to avoid crash

A pickup that led Webster sheriff's deputies on a high-speed chase Tuesday afternoon crashed in the Nickey's parking lot

A truck escaping from the Police in Webster Parish, Louisiana hit a set of spike strips going at a speed of 185km/h. That's when the passenger got in the drivers seat and led police on a chase.

Incredibly, Austin went airborne trying to evade authorities, and someone was inside the auto when the truck landed on top of it.

Tuesday's chase was sparked when a Webster Parish Sheriff's deputy stopped Austin and an unidentified driver in a truck that was reported stolen.

A truck tries to avoid a police roadblock and goes airborne almost 50feet!

The woman said she moved to the passenger side of her vehicle seconds before the crash - something she believes saved her life.

Randy Sayers said he watched the high-speed chase pass him near the town of Springhill, where speeds reached 115 miles per hour. Both Austin and the first driver were taken into custody.

And only slight more incredible than watching Austin's airborne antics was the fact someone was inside a vehicle when the truck landed on top of it.

Austin landed on a Barbara Harlon's Toyota Corolla after the truck's leap. "God was with me".
