With only a few days to go until the SC primary election, Senator Marco Rubio received the coveted endorsement from the state's governor, Nikki Haley.

Ted Cruz, feeling the verbal punches of Donald Trump and Marco Rubio, fiercely pushed back on both of them Wednesday as the top three contestants vie against one another in Saturday's pivotal South Carolina Republican primary.

Republican presidential candidate and former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush (left) shakes hands with his brother former President George W. Bush as Laura Bush and Sen.

The reality star's lawyers sent a cease and desist letter to Cruz, escalating the feud ahead of the Republican primary in SC on Saturday.

Trump later told supporters during a campaign event in Walterboro, South Carolina, on Wednesday that Cruz "stole" the caucuses, calling his actions "a disgrace".

The 44-year-old governor is reported to have chosen Rubio, also 44, as the strongest establishment pick to counter frontrunners Donald Trump and Ted Cruz.

Trump insists he's changed his position and the ad is an attempt to smear him. The last time Trump was not in the lead was in a October 29-Nov.

"When you have Donald Trump and Marco Rubio repeatedly putting forth fabrications with no evidence, no basis whatsoever just trying to throw mud and attacks... that's not indicative of candidates running an honest campaign", he said. The Republican presidential candidate completely trashed Donald Trump for threatening to sue him. "Think of it. Hard to believe".

A majority of Republican voters expect Trump to emerge from the next set of states as the victor - and that he eventually will win the nomination.

Therefore, Jeb Bush "gets out if he's just in single digits and [John] Kasich really won't compete much on March 1", Kristol said.

In addition, Ohio Gov. John Kasich on Tuesday will hold a town hall event at Kennesaw State University at noon and will likely address the Georgia House as well.

Cruz said he met the constitutional requirement that a president must be a "natural born citizen" because his mother was an American.

The Republican Primary polls open February 20 at 7 a.m. Trump's numbers significantly dropped when those polled were asked if they could see themselves voting for Trump, falling from 65 percent in January to 56 percent in February.

"These ads and statements made by Cruz are clearly desperate moves by a guy who is tanking in the polls - watching his campaign go up in flames finally explains Cruz's logo", Trump said in a statement, referring to the flame icon that appears on Cruz's website and elsewhere.

An adviser to Haley and a source close to Rubio's campaign confirmed her endorsement to CNN. "He lied about Ben Carson in Iowa", said Rubio. Rubio counts his time on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee as valuable experience. At one point during a Summerville campaign stop, Bush mimicked pundits suggesting the race is over.
