Outer-space wasn't long from here.

Blockbuster movies are certainly harder to produce in the age of the coronavirus, but Tom Cruise and Grimes baby daddyElon Musk just might've unlocked the secret to social distancing.

In a truly freaky news development, Deadline has reported that Tom Cruise will be teaming up with Elon Musk to create the first film to be shot in outer space.

On Monday, an article appeared on Deadline suggesting that Tom Cruise is planning to make a movie in space with a little help from Elon Musk's SpaceX. "It's not a Mission: Impossible film and no studio is in the mix at this stage but look for more news as I get it".

While Cruise has enjoyed a successful career as one of Hollywood's most celebrated actors, his next endeavor in an intergalactic film would put him in a league like no other. Whether it's hanging out of a plane or climbing the world's largest tour without a harness, Cruise and company have pushed their creative stunts to their limit with the Mission Impossible franchise, while also flying military planes in the upcoming Top Gun: Maverick. Still, Tom Cruise in outer space doing space stuff sounds too good to be true for action fans.

Nothing is solid yet and this actually isn't even the first time Cruise has considered shooting a movie in space. I had a contract with the Russians in 2000 to go to the International Space Station and shoot a high-end 3D documentary there. In 'Mission Impossible - Rogue Nation, he had hung off the side of an airplane mid-flight.
