ESPN's College FootballGameDay will be broadcast from the Knights' campus on Saturday, adding more energy to an already highly anticipated matchup that will determine which team will clinch the American Athletic Conference East Division crown.
Brian Kelly's program has received some major recruiting news in anticipation of that contest. The only three teams ahead of the Wolverines are Alabama, Clemson and Notre Dame in that order.
Upon his arrival in South Bend, Liufau will be the third player from Hawaii on the active Irish roster, along with safety Alohi Gilman and defensive tackle Myron Tagovailoa-Amosa.
If the playoff was held today, Alabama would face MI in a Cotton Bowl semifinal on December 29 while Clemson would play Notre Dame in an Orange Bowl semifinal on the same day. The night slate features a couple of intriguing games, including Cincinnati at UCF, Arizona at Washington State, San Diego State-Fresno State and Iowa State at Texas. His pledge also boosts the Fighting Irish up one spot according to the 247Sports Composite Team Rankings.
