Out-Patient Departments (OPDs) and medical clinics shall be permitted to operate in Red, Orange and Green Zones, with social distancing norms and other safety precautions, however, these will not be permitted within the containment zones. In rural areas, all shops except malls are allowed to open without any distinction of essential or non-essential, said the order. All shops will, however, remain open in orange and green zones.
The new order released by the state government on Sunday stated: "All standalone (single) shops, neighbourhood (colony) shops and shops in residential complexes, without any distinction of essential and non-essential, are permitted to remain open in urban areas excluding containment zones".
Self-employed people like plumbers, electricians, and domestic helps can start working but local administration can form rules for them.
As per reports, authorities have decided that the shops can be opened, but NOT in containment zones or red zones in Mumbai and Pune. The central government has mapped each district in three zones - red, orange, and green based on the number of COVID-19 cases in the different areas.
