Texans acquire QB Weeden after waived by Cowboys

It didn't take long for the Texans to snare quarterback Brandon Weeden, who was signed Wednesday after being cut by the Cowboys on Tuesday

According to the team website, head coach Bill O'Brien said Hoyer would only need one practice to be able to play.

Hoyer left Monday night's win over Cincinnati with a concussion and TJ Yates came in to finish the game.

Yates was pressed into duty that season due to injuries to Matt Schaub and Matt Leinart.

The Texans are covering their bases when it comes to their quarterback conundrum.

Now, Hoyer is hurt, Yates is getting ready to start and Weeden is set to back him up.

"I'm good", Hopkins assured reporters Thursday. It is expected that T.J. Yates will start the game and Weeden will be his backup.

Heading into NFL Week 11 action, the Houston Texans are set to host the NY Jets in a big conference game.

Even before going through surgery, Fitzpatrick was confident he will be playing against the Texans this Sunday which was his team's last season.

"I've been on enough teams now to where you don't hold grudges, but (the trade) plays into it", he said. If I want to beat a man, attack his weakness. Hoyer missed Wednesday's practice.

Both teams had their struggles on offense, but at the same time both teams defenses' were very much polished. There were three times where the Jets were faced with a third or fourth-and-short situation and threw the ball behind the line of scrimmage for a loss. They held Tennessee to just 211 total yards in this game, their lowest total of the season. Tyler Eifert's drops may have been the headline coming out of the win against Cincinnati, but the unit also held one of the league's best receivers, A.J. Green, to just 67 yards on five catches.

He will need those qualities against a formidable Jets defense headlined by cornerback Darrelle Revis and defensive end Muhammad Wilkerson. Let us know in the comment box below!
