Singer Chris Brown and two associates were detained in Paris on Monday after a woman filed a complaint accusing the entertainer of rape, according to a report by the Associated Press.

The people dealing with the case have a couple of days to decide whether or not they will let Brown go.

Brown, 29, has been in repeated legal trouble since pleading guilty to assaulting his then-girlfriend Rihanna in 2009. In 2013, he spent two and a half months in jail after he was arrested for reportedly assaulting a man outside of the W Hotel in Washington D.C. However, he was finally off probation in 2015. Despite being scared, Karima said she ultimately chose to go to the police two days after she was allegedly raped because she didn't want the R&B singer to "be able to do the same things to other girls".

The singer and two others, including his bodyguard, were detained Monday after a woman filed a rape complaint.

Chris Brown has won numerous awards, including the prestigious Grammy for "Best R&B Album" in 2012.

So far, authorities have locked up three men as they conduct investigations.

A police official says one of one of the other suspects is Brown's bodyguard, while the identity of the third man is now unknown.

Chris Brown attended Paris Fashion Week before he was arrested following a rape claim. His hits include "Look at Me Now, " "Run It", and numerous collaborations with other stars, including "Post to Be" and last year's "Freaky Friday" with Lil Dicky.

He went off the radar following the assault on Rihanna before launching a comeback in 2011 with the new album F.A.M.E., which debuted at number one in the United States charts. Followers responded with mixed messages to the rape accusation. In July 2018 after a concert in West Palm Beach, Florida, Brown was charged with felony for allegedly punching a photographer in April 2017.
