"They're all ... They have always been about you, '" he recalls as the screen pans to footage of 23-year-old 'Havana" singer on stage. They sparked dating rumors after collaborating on the song "I Know What You Did Last Summer" and further fueled "Shawmila" speculation after collaborating on "Señorita" in 2019.
In Wonder also features several moments with his girlfriend, Camila Cabello, including some of their performances together. Saying that Cabello has been his muse for every song written in the past five years of his career is quite the romantic revelation. And in the trailer, he talks about how "every song [he] ever wrote" was for Camila.
Cabello is also present as Mendes struggles with the idea of how much to give of himself onstage, as the doc takes a darker turn.
"I used to be like, 'my idols, they were born legendary.' And, that's just not the truth". "Maybe I should pretend that I'm Superman for a little bit longer".
With the cameras rolling, Shawn Mendes is exposing who he actually is in his new Netflix documentary, "In Surprise". In fact, many fans were feeling kind of thirsty after the opening shot featured Mendes from the waist-up in a steamy shower, before walking out and wrapping himself with a towel.
The documentary, which is slated to be released November 23 on the streaming platform, follows Mendes on his most recent tour, as he traveled to North and South America, Europe, Asia and Australia. "Time to surrender, '" Mendes explains while playing in front of a giant audience.
"This isn't a narrative a couple of well-known musician", he says.
