The Chromebook Plus (V2) can still be folded into tablet mode and will have a built-in pen stylus. The 2018 model runs on an Intel CPU instead of the ARM processor, bringing it in line with the SamsungChromebook Pro which launched alongside the first Plus but with a high-end Intel Core m3 processor. Samsung says that this refreshed device will be available from 24 June at Best Buy online and in store from $499.99.
The Chromebook Plus V2 doesn't stray too far from the original Plus model, including a built-in pen and a screen that can flip over to tablet mode, while inside it has the same 4GB RAM and 32GB built-in storage.
As much as we love seeing the upgraded internals, the Chromebook Plus V2's screen is actually a downgrade compared to its predecessor.
Samsung is charging $499 for the Chromebook Plus (V2) if you wanna pick one up. The Chromebook Plus (V2) is now powered by a lower-end Celeron processor, which should mean that the device will be faster than its predecessor. Samsung has also added an additional camera, so now you'll have a standard webcam on top of the display, as well as one on the keyboard deck for you to hold up your massive device and snap shots with.
Premium Design, Premium Experience - designed for comfort and peace of mind, with a curved-cap keyboard built to withstand spills up to 60cc.
And perhaps most importantly, it supports the Google Play Store, so you'll be able to use all of your Android apps. "The Samsung Chromebook Plus (V2) offers even more functionality to users with multiple connected devices, including easy file sharing between Chromebook and mobile devices", Samsung said in a press release. The sides of the machine sport a USB 3.0 Type-A connector, an audio combo jack, a microSD card reader, and two USB-C ports that can also serve as 4K display outputs.
