Reality TV's 'Mama June' arrested on drug charges

Mama June and Geno Doak

The two were spotted at a casino just a few days after the arrest, TMZ reported, despite Doak being told to stay away from Shannon after they were released.

Reality stars Mama June and Honey Boo Boo.

Mama June made her reality TV debut in 2012 on TLC's Toddlers & Tiaras alongside Honey Boo Boo, who was 6 at the time.

Brunson said Shannon took "responsibility" for the drugs and drug paraphernalia since it was her vehicle, but both are charged with felony drug possession and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, which is a misdemeanor.

According to People, Mama June's boyfriend Eugene Doak was also arrested on Wednesday, 13 March, at a gas station in Macon County where he was heard threatening her. Shannon has not yet issued a public statement, and did not respond to a request for comment from the outlet. Doak was also charged with domestic violence harassment. June has been dating the business owner for three years, but he wasn't introduced on television until the second season of Mama June: From Not to Hot.

The reports did not say whether she had a lawyer. Shannon was released the same day of the arrests and Doak was released the following day.

"And yes the most outrageous moment is me getting genp to possibly marry me so we're going to see what happens this season so let's get to watching now #MamaJune", she wrote on Friday.

Shannon also caught heat and saw the reality show Here Comes Honey Boo Boo canceled when it was revealed her prior boyfriend, Mark McDaniel, sexually abused her daughter Anna Shannon when she was eight years old. Mama June live-tweeted the episode, but made no mention of her arrest.
