In light of the global pandemic, Princess Beatrice of York and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, who were to tie the knot in the month of May, had to postpone their wedding to a later date. The vintage diamante-encrusted dress, which belongs to the British monarch, was remodeled and refitted for Beatrice.

For her special day, Beatrice, 31, wore two extraordinary pieces from her 94-year-old grandmother, who attended the ceremony with husband Prince Philip. You can see Her Majesty wore this in 1966 State Opening of Parliament.

But like the two images issued on Saturday, they failed to show the bride's father Prince Andrew, following controversy over his friendship with paedophile Jeffrey Epstein.

Instead, they had a small private ceremony attended by close family, including Beatrice's grandparents, the Queen and Prince Philip, and abiding by government guidelines.

The eldest daughter of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson wore a vintage dress by Norman Hartnell on loan from her grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II.

Beatrice's younger sister Princess Eugenie also followed the Welsh gold wedding band tradition when she married Jack Brooksbank in 2018.

Throughout her reign, the Queen has reworn the dress on several occasions.

The release also revealed that Princess Beatrice and Edoardo limited their guest list "in keeping with the unique circumstances while enabling them to celebrate their wedding with their closest family".

Despite the hard global and personal circumstances, Beatrice, Queen Elizabeth II's granddaughter and, until now, the last single British royal of her generation, managed to stun with her choice of tiara. Having the Queen and Duke of Edinburgh at her (socially distanced) side, made it - in its own way - the grandest affair imaginable.

The couple, who got engaged a year ago in Italy, planned to Wednesday on May 29 at the Chapel Royal at St. James's Palace in London, where Prince George, the son of Beatrice's cousin Prince William and his wife, Kate, was baptized in 2013.

Queen Elizabeth's granddaughters-in-law, Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle, also sported tiaras from her collection for their own weddings.
