An average of nearly 1,200 people are now in intensive care daily with COVID-19, about half of them on ventilators.
GTA hospitals now overflowing with COVID patients have transferred over 550 patients to other areas of the province.
The weekly incidence rate in Ontario is 206.5 cases per 100,000 people, which is an increase of 27.8 per cent from last week (April 3 to April 9).
