As Sony hasn't given any comment on the story yet, there aren't any further details on what this movie will be about, but speculation about it being centered around Spider-Woman certainly seems like it could hold water. Now, it looks like she's about to make the jump to the superhero genre.
Wilde's next project, thriller Don't Worry, Darling, is set to start shooting later this year, while the Tron: Legacy star, Silberman, and Pascal are also working on a Christmas movie. And the Deadline report said it will centre on Spider-Woman.
Wilde earned high praise a year ago after her directorial debut with the woke feminist coming-of-age film Booksmart. News that her experience in front of the camera has only helped her skills behind it. The Spider-Gwen version of the character has most recently appeared in the animated feature Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, voiced by Hailee Steinfeld.
Wilde is now in pre-production on the psychological thriller Don't Worry, Darling.
