Odell Beckham Jr. to miss rest of season with torn ACL

The NFL season has been up and down for Browns player Odell Beckham Jr.

After throwing his fifth touchdown pass of the day and third of the fourth quarter to cap a 37-34 win, Mayfield met reporters for a press conference that included questions about his response to Beckham's injury.

Beckham tore his left anterior cruciate ligament on Cleveland's first possession Sunday.

The Browns receiver was injured after trying to tackle Bengals' Darius Phillips during an interception return.

Hopefully, Beckham Jr. recovers during his rehabilitation process.

In his first season in Cleveland in 2019, Beckham played through a core muscle injury that required offseason surgery.

Beckham is due $15.75 million in 2021, with $12.97 million guaranteed. However, Beckham still had over 1,000 yards receiving previous year and had scored three touchdowns in six-plus games this season.

The Browns are 5-2 after Sunday's win.

Beckham rebuffed those rumors and said he was happy in Cleveland, where he's been reunited with former LSU teammate and close friend Jarvis Landry.

Mayfield and Beckham have not lit it up quite the way people hoped they would when the Browns acquired OBJ in a trade with the New York Giants.
