NY Jets Rumors: Ryan Fitzpatrick Starter Over Geno Smith Week 11, Brandon
Nov 22 2015
Bowles insisted that Fitzpatrick must be able to practice at a few points this week to play.
The Jets gave Fitzpatrick a day off Wednesday to let his left thumb heal another day, but otherwise he seemed recovered from the procedure to fix a torn thumb ligament on his non-throwing hand.
Jets quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick had surgery on his left thumb last Friday and is wearing a brace on it in preparation for Sunday's game against his old team, the Texans, in Houston.
The Jets' offense was nowhere to be found in the first half of their match as the Bills limited them to only three points at the break before quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick made two touchdown passes in the second half, but it was already too late.
When asked today if finding a quarterback in the draft was a top priority, Maccagnan said the Jets shared a philosophy with most of the teams in the league. I don't think this is a good matchup for Indy's defense either, and the markets have certainly cooled on Atlanta since their hot start.
Through the first nine games of the season, Bowles has been exposed at the most crucial times. The plan is for him to do more during Thursday's practice, as coach Todd Bowles wants to see how Fitzpatrick handles everything from snaps to handing off the ball.
Fitzpatrick wasn't at the team's facility Monday, and admitted he still was a little groggy in the days immediately following the operation, which took place the morning after the Jets' Thursday night loss to Buffalo.
"For me, yes", he said. Although he started training camp No. 2 on the team's depth chart, Fitzpatrick became the Green & White's starter in August after a locker room altercation left Geno Smith with a broken jaw. "The jury is still out, but not necessarily in a bad way". I thought he's handled it very well. He has eight catches for 94 yards in five games this season.
"Ryan's quotes sound pretty confident that they can turn things around against the Colts suspect defense: "(We) just need to get back to executing in the way we are capable of.
Yates, who, it's been reported, has been in witness protection since injuries forced him into the starting lineup for the Texans' postseason run during his rookie year, is the epitome of nothing special.
"For me, just looking at myself in the mirror, I have to play better", Marshall said, via ESPN.com.
