Many continue to ask about the status of the 2020 Manitowoc County Fair.
The Winnebago County Fair is the latest event impacted by the coronavirus pandemic.
"The next couple of weeks is going to show a lot. While the Rodeo, Greased Pig, and other events are canceled, we still want to uphold our mission of providing 4-H and family members with opportunities to showcase their talents, accomplishments, and hard work that they have been putting into their projects all year".
Members of the Fair Association's Board of Directors announced Tuesday that substantial modifications have been made for the event, which was scheduled to be held July 22 - 26th.
"The Fair Board did not make this decision in haste", the board said in a press release.
Organizers say the Dodge County Fair will not be held this year, citing COVID-19 concerns.
"Not getting together this August at the Iowa State Fair will be disappointing".
County Executive Bob Ziegelbauer said, "A lot of fairs have been canceled". Because one thing we've learned is that it only gets better from here. They say that the Fair Board, with help from Osceola County Extension, have come up with a plan.
The fair board has also reached out to local and state representatives to intercept thoughts and guidance from Governor Walz. However, Smith County has their "Fair on the River" scheduled for July 1 through July 6, 2020.
