New COVID-19 Cases Confirmed In Clare; 650 New Cases Nationally

The Interior Health death toll remains at 88.

The median age of those who died was 82 years, while the age range was between 52 to 99 years.

On Thursday, the state's health department reported five new covid-related deaths in the county for a total of 657 since the pandemic began. There is now a total of 211,751 confirmed cases of Covid-19 in Ireland.

These figures include the denotification of one death and 12 cases.

As of midnight, Tuesday 16th February, the HPSC has been notified of 650 confirmed cases of COVID-19.

192 in Dublin, 53 in Galway, 50 in Meath, 46 in Kildare, 46 in Cork and the remaining 263 cases are spread across 19 other counties. There were forty-nine additional hospitalisations in the past 24 hours.

To date, just over 176000 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in BC, 26,030 of which are second doses. There are 232 individuals now hospitalized with COVID-19, 63 of whom are in intensive care.

Marc Brisson of Universite Laval says Quebec's choice to relax health orders on February 8 could result in a sharp rise in the number of cases, hospitalizations and deaths if a variant takes hold.

Since the pandemic began a year ago, there have been 26,132 cases among Westmoreland County residents, with 18,586 of them confirmed positive through PCR tests and 7,546 categorized as probable. "In particular, people should isolate immediately on experiencing any symptoms and contact their GP".
