Month-long stay-at-home order issued, what it means for the London region

Sources say the order will take effect at 12:01 a.m. Thursday morning and last for four weeks.
Sources tell CKTB News if the order is brought in, it may include limiting in-store big box store purchases to essential goods only, such as groceries.
Residential evictions are also again suspended.
Less than a week after a third provincial shutdown was imposed, further restrictions and a stay-at-home order have been issued.
Non-essential retailers can only offer curbside pickup and delivery. Big box retail stores would be restricted to selling only grocery and pharmacy items with garden centres still be permitted to stay open as well. Under that order, a 50 per cent capacity limit on all retail settings, prohibition of personal care services and limiting outdoor gatherings to no more than five people.

As part of Phase 2 of its COVID-19 vaccine distribution plan, people living in regions with the highest rates of transmission will be prioritized to receive a vaccine, starting with the most at-risk in the Peel and Toronto public health regions. The CBC reported that province-wide school closures were not in the new order.
The Premier added that anyone calling for paid sick days from the Ford Government is just playing politics as Ottawa already has a program in place.
The province will also be organizing mobile vaccination teams and pop-up clinics to administer vaccines in hot spot neighbourhoods in Toronto and Peel Region.
"The Covid-19 situation is at a critical stage and we must act quickly and decisively to stay ahead of these deadly new variants", said Premier Ford.
