However, while individual company support for mental health was important to the aforementioned group, only 29% of baby boomers (ages 55-73) felt that it was important that a company they might work for has a culture of supporting mental health, according to the study. The goal is to expand the pipeline of high-quality, trained professionals to address shortages of mental health services in high-need schools and to provide supports that encompass social and emotional learning, mental wellness, resilience, and positive connections between students and adults.

In a bid to create awareness about mental health, World Mental Health Day, is organised every October 10, which was started by the World Federation for Mental Health in 1992.

Unfortunately, mental health problems are under-identified by health-care professionals and older people themselves, and the stigma surrounding these conditions makes people reluctant to seek help.

If they feel you are someone who dismisses their opinions on even the smallest issues, you will build barriers. There are clients who have reported that they are suffering from depression from many years but whenever they tell anyone about it, they are told not to exaggerate and to be silent about it; otherwise, society will not accept them.

One-third of the 1,500 survey-takers also said they thought that work contributed to their experience of symptoms of mental health conditions. A harmless comment like "She's acting bi-polar today" may be normal to others but would be harmful to someone struggling with a mental health issue.

The 3rd Public Health Convention on Mental Health aims to showcase various mental health activities and accomplishments and present the Mental Health Strategic Plan created by the Philippine Council for Mental Health (PCMH) in hopes of raising awareness on the available services and linking resources to our service users.
