Team USA's starter Zeke Spruill pitches against Mexico during the first inning of their semifinal game at the Premier12 world baseball tournament at Tokyo Dome in Tokyo, Friday, November 20, 2015.

Starting pitcher Kim Kwang-hyun also helped the victory by throwing five shutout innings.

A packed house of 55,000 spectators cheered during an exciting baseball game between South Korea and host country Japan during the inaugural Premier12 tournament.

Japan's Sho Nakata singled to get a runner on first in the bottom of the ninth, but to no avail as Yoshitomo Tsutsugu and Takaya Nakamura both grounded out, silencing the Tokyo crowd and sending South Korea through. Japan will take on Mexico in the third-place game at 1 p.m. Saturday at the dome. Nobody reached second with Otani on the mound, as he continued to produce fastballs above 160 kph into the seventh inning.

The USA squad is managed by Willie Randolph. "He's a fine player".

The Minnesota Twins have won the bidding for negotiating rights to Park.

The Twins have until December 8 to sign Park, who had a. 343 batting average and 146 RBIs this season for Nexen Heroes.

Juan Perez hit a solo homer for Mexico in the sixth.

The Premier 12 is a baseball tournament organized by the World Baseball Softball Confederation involving 12 top-ranked nations.
