Kellen Winslow Jr. Found Guilty of Raping 58-Year-Old Homeless Woman

Ex-Cleveland Brown Kellen Winslow Jr. found guilty of sexually assaulting homeless woman

The son of Hall of Famer Kellen Winslow had pleaded not guilty to 12 counts, as the jurors are expected to deliberate further on the other counts.

But a week later, authorities dropped a bomb when they announced they had rearrested Winslow, and were charging him with a string of sex crimes targeting women in their 50s or older, including two counts of forcible rape.

Former NFL star Kellen Winslow Jr. has been convicted of raping a 58-year-old homeless woman last year in San Diego County.

The two other counts of rape involve a 54-year-old hitchhiker and an unconscious teenage girl in 2003. The jury found him guilty on the charge of touching himself in front of the woman at the gym, but not guilty of committing a lewd act while in the facility's hot tub in front of the same woman who said it happened on a different occasion.

The indecent exposure incident involved a 58-year-old woman who was gardening in her front yard.

Former NFL star Kellen Winslow Jr. has been convicted of rape. Just after 4:30 p.m., the judge summoned the jury back to the courtroom and instructed them to go home for the night and return Tuesday morning at 9 a.m. for a final attempt to break the deadlock on the remaining charges.

The jurors considered 12 criminal counts against Winslow: seven felonies and five misdemeanors involving the five women.

All five women testified during the nine-day trial.

The Miami product was drafted by the Browns with the No. 6 pick in the 2004 draft.

Prosecutor Dan Owens told the jury of eight men and four women that Winslow is a "wolf in sheep's clothing".

"The jurors could benefit from an explanation as to what being under oath means", the note said.

Kellen Winslow II played nine National Football League seasons and caught 469 passes for 5,236 yards and 25 touchdowns with the Cleveland Browns, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, New England Patriots and New York Jets.

Winslow was initially charged last summer with raping Jane Doe 1 and 2 in Encinitas in early 2018, as well as exposing himself to Jane Doe 3 in her yard.

Winslow's attorneys say that the alleged incidents were either consensual or never occurred.
