Kate Bishop arrives in Marvel's Avengers on December 8

Marvel's Avengers Latest War Table Announces Kate Bishop Release December 8th

Square Enix has announced that the previously delayed first free additional hero coming to Marvel's Avengers in the form of Kate Bishop will now be coming to the game alongside her own mini-campaign known as Taking AIM, free for all players on December 8.

Square Enix/Crystal Dynamics' Marvel's Avengers has been hampered by some pretty deflating news lately. The newly introduced hero's story takes place shortly after the conclusion of the game's main narrative and sees Bishop approaching the Avengers for their assistance. Critics were none too happy with the game's bugs at launch, its DLC plans were pushed back, its next-gen versions have fallen into 2021, and its overall sales fell far below expectations. Today's War Table gameplay deep dive reveals that the fight against AIM will continue on December 8, the new hero's launch date.

Marvel's Avengers is available now for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC. After being thought dead, Kate embarks on a rescue mission for her mentor, Clint "Hawkeye" Barton - using a bridge through time to rescue him, and cut antagonist Monica Rappaccini "off from her future self".

As for playstyle, Kate looks like she has all the expected skills from Hawkeye like the expert marksmanship and swordskills. The team points to the Super Adaptoid fight as being a multiplayer only encounter.

As you might imagine, many of her abilities revolve around her use of a bow but she is also capable with a sword. The video gives a quick tease of Operation Hawkeye: Future Imperfect, the next big update, which launches in 2021.
