Sega is bringing Judgment, the murder-mystery action-adventure from its Yakuza staff, to PlayStation 5, Stadia, and Xbox Series X on April 23. Being on new hardware, it will run at 60 FPS, have improved load times, and contain all previously released DLC. Disgraced lawyer-turned-private detective, Takayuki Yagami, is tasked with hunting down an enigmatic serial killer who takes the eyes of his victims. The PS4 exclusive has undergone a facelift with the game boasting "refined visuals" and a performance bump that sees the Judgment running at 60fps on latest consoles.
Sega has told IGN that cross-buy will not be supported for PS4 and PS5.
For those who've already bought the game on PlayStation 4 (including yours truly), I'm afraid there's some bittersweet news. If you have yet to play a Yakuza game, Judgment is a great starting point, as it is a standalone game with little connection to the Yakuza series. Yakuza developer Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio launched the sport first in Japan, with a worldwide launch following in June 2019. As a detective game, you'll also be scouring crime scenes, collecting clues, and making deductions.
