Jackson County reports new daily high for COVID-19 cases

The positivity rate now stands at 4.94% statewide.

The newest cases include 13 males, age 10 to 80s, and 20 females, age 10 to 90s.

The health officials urged anyone experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 to contact 811 or their health-care provider and arrange testing.

There have been no additional outbreaks of COVID-19 in the health-care system or in the broader community since Henry's last update on Tuesday, and an outbreak at St. Paul's Hospital in Vancouver has been declared over.

Red River County's case count rose from 173 to 176, Morris County's from 196 to 199, Cass County's from 418 to 445 and Titus County's from 1,504 to 1,519, according to TDSHS.

Green River health officials say the coronavirus related deaths were a Union County resident and a Webster County resident.

The update said the total number of cases is now at 300.

The Hopkins County Health Department showed 17 new cases.

According to the United States Centers for Disease Control, the PCR (polymerase chain reaction) tests that determine confirmed cases are more sensitive than the antigen tests that determine probable cases. Of those, 3,124,593 people were considered recovered, leaving 4,542,476 cases - 57.6% - active nationwide.

This brings the countywide number to 917 total cases.
