Johnny said he was "shocked" when she signed on to make the film and admitted it made him feel "jealous".
"Depp, providing proof from his libel trial against Britain's Sun newspaper over an article describing him as a" wife beater", denied he'd assaulted Heard, accusing her of being the aggressor whom he attempted to placate.
Calling it a "pathological lie", he said he had been drawing art sketches on the plane, and he denied hitting Heard, but he said he "stretched my leg out to tap her playfully on the bottom". "You were in fact acting like a wino and an alcoholic and felt very sensitive". She further blamed the actor's violence on his drug and alcohol use during Depp's fiery libel battle with British newspaper The Sun.
During the incident in question, Johnny Depp began to drink heavily after being sober for 160 days.
Wass pressed forward, saying to the Edward Scissorhands star, according to The Guardian, "You then slapped Ms". Depp alleges that it was this particular incident which resulted in their marriage derailing. She added: "You slapped her more than once, because after you slapped her the first time, she didn't react, she just eyeballed you, she just stared at you, and that made you more angry and you slapped her again".
Earlier Depp said Heard's allegations were a hoax built up over years during their relationship as an "insurance policy".
When he was shown a picture of an injury to Ms Heard's arm and asked if he had any memory of inflicting this injury, Mr Depp replied: "No, ma'am, I don't".
The court heard a recording of Depp appearing to howl "like an animal" after he attacked Amber Heard in a cocaine and alcohol fuelled tirade on a plane over accusations that she cheated on him with "rapist" James Franco. The trial is scheduled to last three weeks and the outcome will be decided by a judge.
"It was not until much later that I understood that she had an agenda, namely to get married to me in order to progress her own career and/or to benefit financially, and she knew how to bring it about".
"Many times you have hurt me".
"There were many times in our relationship when not only did she chop the cocaine with a razor blade into lines she also put it on to her finger and rubbed it into her gums", he said.
The actor said he could not recall "screaming obscenities" on the flight, but he said there was an argument between him and Heard.
But at the heart of the case were claims that Depp (57) was repeatedly violent against Heard and deserved to be described as a "wife beater".
The court heard details of an alleged incident in Hicksville, California, in June 2013 - one of 14 allegations of domestic violence NGN relies on as part of its defence to Mr Depp's claim, all of which the star denies.
The actor's case against NGN and Mr Wootton arises out of the publication of an article on The Sun's website on April 27 2018 with the headline "Gone Potty: How can JK Rowling be "genuinely happy" casting wife beater Johnny Depp in the new Fantastic Beasts film?".
"That is complete nonsense, Mr. Depp", the lawyer said.
