While still a niche, gaming smartphones feature some of the most intriguing hardware and designs.
The Asus ROG Phone 4 (or ROG Phone 5) also seems set to come with some sort of a flashy red-coated shoulder button, suggesting the gaming focus will be increased rather than reduced.
In a short video on Weibo spotted by GSMArena, the ROG Phone 5 appears to feature a small dot-matrix-style display positioned diagonally across its back, allowing you to see notifications or create small custom messages that you can see even while the phone is laying on its face.
Asus is gearing up to introduce another sleek smartphone under the praised ROG Phone series. Based on a listing found on China's 3C certification, the new ROG Phone is revealed to come with 65W charging and has the ASUS_I005DA model number. The leak has surfaced on the Chinese microblogging site Weibo and offers some visual confirmation about the unreleased gaming phone. You can see the design of its entire back panel on the photo below.
Details related to the pricing and availability of the ASUSROG Phone 4 in India will be announced at the launch event in the coming days. Today, a reliable tipster Digital Chat Stationshared a video of the ROG Phone 5. Needless to add, this further fuels rumors the company will skip the ROG Phone 4 naming scheme entirely.
So, there is a high chance that the next ROG Phone could be called the "ROG Phone 5" instead of "ROG Phone 4". Sources say that this mysterious button is for activating the gaming mode. The only downside to the battery size is that it takes over 100 minutes for the phone to fully charge via 30W wired charging.
Apart from the AniMe Matrix display, the video also confirms a triple-camera array and slim bezels.
Under the hood, the upcoming smartphone is said to draw power from a Qualcomm processor, most likely the Snapdragon 888, coupled with 8GB RAM.
