Covid-19: Over 19 Million Cases Worldwide

Australia could record more than 11,000 deaths from COVID-19 if the current restrictions and mandates continue, updated projections reveal. Currently around a thousand people are dying from coronavirus every day in America, though the surge in daily death count seen last month appears to have ended, with the daily figure now dropping.

Large Increase of COVID-19 Recorded by Health Officials

Eight cases were reported Thursday, four cases on Wednesday, six cases on Tuesday, and nine cases were reported on Monday, which also factors in cases over the weekend. There are no new community outbreaks, however, there has been one new health care facility outbreak in the Fraser Region. There are now 30,638 total cases and 380 deaths.

Moderna Prices COVID Vaccine Higher than Others

Japan has already agreed to receive a supply of 120 million doses of a coronavirus vaccine for 60 million people by the end of June next year from USA pharmaceutical giant Pfizer Inc. Meanwhile, Japan is rounding out its vaccine offerings via advance purchase and production deals with other shot majors. Japan on Friday reported 1,563 new cases, bringing the total number of infections to nearly 47,000.

9 new Minnesota COVID-19 deaths, 629 new infections

In Douglas County, 600 out of the 686 cases are inactive or beyond the infectious period, according to Lawrence-Douglas County Public Health. Previously, Douglas County announced that four people - a male resident in his 70s and three male residents in their 80s - had died from COVID-19 or with the virus as a contributing factor in their deaths.

Queensland border call 'obviously had to happen'

There are fears the outbreak has jumped the border to NSW, where there are now 104 active infections. "At our road borders, we had 5,374 vehicles intercepted". There is nothing stopping Queensland horses from crossing the border and competing in NSW - although Queensland Health officials have warned Queensland residents against travelling to NSW.
