Supreme Court has asked Bihar, Maharashtra, the center, and Sushant Singh Rajput's father to file their responses to Rhea Chakraborty's petition in three days. Since then Mumbai police has been probing the case keeping in mind various angles.
The move comes soon after the Bihar government made a decision to recommend a CBI inquiry into the case on a request from the actor's father.

Bihar BJP spokesperson Nikhil Anand came out with a statement thanking Nitish Kumar, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah for paving the way for a CBI inquiry.
The counsel for the Maharashtra government opposed the CBI probe and argued that it is the Mumbai Police that is authorised to investigate under the CrPC.
