Donald Trump Claims Victory, Questions Recently Counted Mail-In Ballots

The Associated Press has called MI for Joe Biden, who is leading in the state by almost 3 percentage points, or about 150,000 votes, with 98% of the votes counted.

A win in Pennsylvania which carries 20 Electoral College votes, would ensure he wins the presidency.

Holding Arizona is crucial to Trump's narrowing chances of victory in the election, with both MI and Wisconsin called for Biden Wednesday night by Decision Desk HQ.

Trump still had a lead in Georgia over Biden, but only by a margin of some 1,700 votes as of 1 a.m.

"STOP THE COUNT!" Trump tweeted earlier Thursday, referring to his unsupported claim that the mail-in ballots in particular are fraudulent.

Conservatives railed against Fox News for its decision to call Arizona and said they switched the channel to Newsmax following the announcement.

"Baseless allegations of systematic deficiencies, notably by the incumbent president, including on election night, harm public trust in democratic institutions", Michael Georg Link, the head of the US observer mission, said in a statement on Wednesday.

Donald Trump has insisted he "easily wins" the U.S. election as he accused ballots cast against him as being "illegal" in an address from the White House.

Trump campaign officials, meanwhile, accused Democrats of trying to steal the election, despite no evidence anything of the sort was taking place.

Sen. Pat Toomey of Pennsylvania, whose state is a key battleground in the presidential election, says he had seen no evidence to support Trump's claim Thursday evening of fraud in the balloting. Trump, 74, needed an increasingly unlikely combination of wins in multiple states to stay in power.

He argued he had won the states of MI and Wisconsin, but that his lead in the states got "miraculously whittled down".

"We all know why Joe Biden is rushing to falsely pose as the victor, and why his media allies are trying so hard to help him: they don't want the truth to be exposed", said Trump.

But judges in MI and Georgia dismissed the actions launched by the Trump campaign. To prevail, Trump would have to win all four remaining battleground states; Biden would have to win one. The process is working.

When will we know the results? We believe in counting all the votes, " De Wine said. Harris and I will be declared the winners.

"The people have spoken", Biden said Saturday night.

Still, he has expressed confidence over his win.

He continued his criticism of postal votes and said the Republicans were "winning in all the key locations" but that their leads then "started miraculously getting whittled away in secret". No states permit voting following November 3.

Also, a record number of more than 101 million Americans voted early either in mail-in ballots or in-person voting.
