Here's hoping all is well at Kapil's end and we wish him a super speedy recovery going forward.
Kapil Dev is admitted to Fortis Escorts hospital in New Delhi. In 2002, Dev was named "Indian Cricketer of the Century" by Wisden.
The 61-year-old is still regarded as one of the finest all-rounders that the cricket world has produced. According to media reports, he was initially admitted to the Fortis Escorts Heart Institute's emergency department in Delhi.
However, a source close to Kapil said, "The heart attack was a rumour".
As soon as the news of Kapil Dev being hospitalized broke out on social media, the who's who of the cricket fraternity from all over the world came forward to extend their best wishes to the World Cup-winning captain and prayed for his speedy recovery. He was evaluated and an emergency coronary angioplasty was performed in the middle of the night. In total, he took a remarkable 434 Test wickets and 253 one-day global wickets. I just spoke to his wife (Romi).
He went on to represent India in 131 Tests, amassing 5,248 runs in addition to picking up 434 wickets. The sports drama's story is based on the real-life events of the 1983 World Cup that was won by the Indian Cricket team.
