COVID-19: Vaccinations Administered In Putnam County Shortly After First Shipment Arrives

Bay County COVID-19 vaccines

RRHC is partnering with the County to ensure the vaccines are provided as safely, quickly and as equitably as possible.

Health care workers are part of the 1A round of individuals who are eligible for COVID-19 vaccinations.

Teton County has chose to focus on individuals 80 years and older first based on guidance from the Wyoming Department of Health and due to limited numbers of COVID vaccine doses in January.

"In order to do this by July 4, which is our goal, we need to work with a whole army of providers", he said in the video message. The Health Department says it continues to work through Phase 1A and can not move into Phase 1B until additional vaccine is received. Gov. Brian Kemp and DPH Commissioner Kathleen Toomey last week added adults aged 65 and older, law enforcement officers, firefighters and first responders to the list of those eligible to receive a vaccine under Phase 1-A. The Vigo County Health Department has a plan in place and is ready to vaccinate you.

The Lake County Health Department is in Phase 1A of vaccinations, which includes healthcare personnel and long-term care facility residents.

In a media briefing Wednesday, Secretary of Health Umair Shah told reporters that the state has so far received 522,550 doses, "which includes allocations from both Pfizer and Moderna".

In the meantime, Bay County is now accepting online registrations for vaccinations through an online survey for those in 1A or 1B.

OH already has about 1,700 providers registered to administer coronavirus vaccines, including physicians, local health departments, hospitals, federally qualified health centers, in-home health service providers, and some retail pharmacies.

New York Governor Andrew Cuomo and New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio have bickered over the best vaccination plan in the state, which has recorded more than 38,000 COVID-19 deaths, by far the most of any US state.

Once you get the jab, Strasz said that it's still important to carry on with social distancing and mask wearing practices until it becomes universally accepted to stop doing so. The vaccines will be given by the Vigo County Health Department at the council chambers of the annex building. Bach says a single-dose vaccine would ease logistics.

Dr. Maxwell Smith, a bioethicist at Western University and a member of Ontario's COVID vaccine task force, says the province is still trying to figure out those questions.

This is where county residents age 80 and older will be scheduled for their immunizations.

There were 24 deaths reported Friday by Alberta Health. That's out of 14,000 individuals who have requested to have a vaccine appointment through their call center or online portal. Strasz, however, stated that a system is in the works to properly handle vaccine registrations.

"This portal is created to shield the public from road bumps on the road to vaccination, but in order to be effective we need everyone to register", McMillan-Wilhoit said.
