Officials reported of 793 confirmed cases now hospitalized, 35% of which are in intensive care.
The World Health Organization has recorded a new record rise in the number of global Covid-19 cases, with nearly 308,000 reported over the past 24 hours.
Over half of the new cases are in Dublin (108), while there are 18 in Louth, 12 in Donegal, ten in Meath, nine in Kildare, eight in Waterford, seven in Cork, six in Limerick and six in Wexford.
"We know that COVID-19 has not been without challenge and loss", Dix and Henry said in their joint statement. There are now 2,023 net active cases in the county.
The number of ongoing COVID-19 facility outbreaks continues to be five, the data show. Ten Douglas County residents have died thus far from COVID-19 or with the virus as a contributing factor in their deaths.
Statewide, over 1,100 new cases have been confirmed, bringing the statewide total to over 146,000, of which 82% have recovered.
Three men from Brownsville, two women and a man from Harlingen, three women from La Feria and one woman and three men from San Benito are among the dead.

Provincially, 317 new cases were announced, including four that are epi-linked. "We will get to a place where we are reopening more business sectors and schools, but in order to do so we still need everyone to do their part to minimize spreading COVID-19 to other people".
The total number of confirmed cases there remains at 1,148.
The county has seen a large percentage of cases in institutional and work settings: 28% of the confirmed positives were tied to nursing homes and 9% to prisons.
