In the last 24 hours, we have had a further 174 new cases.

A total of 377 deaths in the county are attributed to COVID-19, health department data show.

Provincial and territorial data, indicate that an average of 893 people with COVID-19 were being treated in Canadian hospitals each day during the most recent 7-day period (Oct 10-16), including 178 of whom were being treated in intensive care units.

Manitoba reported 80 new COVID-19 cases on Monday, almost two thirds of them in Winnipeg, as new restrictions on gatherings and businesses took effect in that city.

The Wyoming death total from COVID-19 remains unchanged at 57. He said that includes those who have already had COVID-19.

There have been 3 additional deaths related to COVID-19 reported by the Department of Health today, along with 1,283 New confirmed cases. In total, 17 long-term care or assisted-living facilities and two acute-care facilities have active outbreaks. There continue to be exposure events around the province.

The remaining 649 are spread across all remaining counties. Area health leaders told the Observer this month more out-of-county residents are coming to Charlotte for hospital care as cases increase drastically in some rural communities.

"The best way to do that is to take precautions and use our layers of protection, no matter where we may be".

The ministry said more than three-quarters of the COVID-19 deaths registered had presented high blood pressure or hypertension as an underlying condition.

"Finding that balance also means quickly finding new cases and clusters of COVID-19".

That amounts to 532 cases per 100,000 people in the country of 38 million, or five times fewer than in the United States.
