Borussia Dortmund duo confirm rejecting summer moves to Liverpool

Borussia Dortmund forward Ousmane Dembele has revealed he rejected the chance to join Liverpool after Jurgen Klopp made a a late bid to sign him last summer.

However, the Frenchman had already spoken to Dortmund officials prior to meeting the Reds' boss and had decided he would join the German outfit.

"I saw Klopp in Paris but I told him I'd made up my mind to sign for BVB", the France worldwide said. "Not all, but a lot of my former players I am still in contact with and we talk about things like this".

Speaking to this month's issue of Four Four Two, Dembele has revealed that Liverpool wanted to sign him last summer - but whilst he met up with Reds boss Jurgen Klopp, he told him that he had made a decision to join Dortmund.

Liverpool had offers for Ousmane Dembele and Christian Pulisic turned down, the Liverpool Echo can confirm.

While acknowledging his respect for Klopp, the United States of America worldwide admits a move to Liverpool never really crossed his mind.

However, the U.S. global recently signed a new deal at the club until 2020 in January and is focused on succeeding at Westfalenstadion.

Pulisic says his long-term future remains with Dortmund, adding: "Dortmund have given me everything".

Gotze has not played in any of Dortmund's last six matches due to muscular problems and internal tests carried out by the club revealed the presence of a metabolic issue.

"But I was never really thinking about going to Liverpool".
