Blizzard To Stress Test Overwatch This Weekend

Overwatch Beta Accepting More Players This Weekend

Once the Beta Test Weekend gets underway on Friday morning, click Play to begin!

"Since this is a stress test, we're primarily interested in your technical feedback", Blizzard continued.

If you're selected to play this weekend, you'll receive an email at your Battle.net email address and you'll get that elusive "Install" button under the Overwatch tab in your Battle.net launcher. Group 2 will be invited for these weekend stress tests and won't be able to play the game outside of the allotted time frame.

An Overwatch beta license is visible under the Game Accounts section of your Battle.net Account Management.

In the other Overwatch news, Blizzard has announced it will be opening up its upcoming multiplayer shooter to "a lot more players" with its first stress test of the beta this weekend.

WE know that a closed Overwatch beta has been ongoing for a while, but new intakes are being made by Blizzard.

All 21 heroes will be available during the event, with a limited lineup of maps to choose from, including Hanamura, King's Row, and Watchpoint: Gibraltar. In addition to seeing access in the Battle.net desktop app, you'll also be notified via email should you be granted access. One of our goals is to push our hardware to the limit, so don't be surprised if you experience performance issues or run into unexpected downtime—that’s all part of the process. The developer did mention in the beta FAQ, though, that the next weekend test probably won't be until 2016. Are you excited for the Overwatch beta?

There has yet to be any word about possible beta testing events for those players who are looking to play Overwatch on consoles, with Blizzard focusing more on the PC version for the moment.
