Biden holds 11-point lead over Trump: national poll


A Morning Consult poll published Wednesday found a small margin between the pair on China, with 40 percent of respondents saying they most trusted Biden to handle Washington-Beijing relations, and 38 percent saying the same of Trump. Biden's 48-40 percent lead "is outside the poll's margin of error", Fox News notes.

The leave surveys are a considerable swing in the direction of the Democrats over the last 3-and- a-half-years.

Biden leads by 17 points among voters aged 65 and older and by 13 points among independents.

Also, 69% of Biden supporters call themselves extremely motivated versus 61% of Trump voters. At best for Team Trump, it says voter confidence in President Trump is shaky.

But Trump, who's been eager to get the economy churning again amid a pandemic that's produced Great Depression-level unemployment, still maintains a slight lead over his likely Democratic challenger in terms of voters trusting his handling of the economy, according to the latest Fox News Poll.

Exit polls found older voters going for Trump by 7 points in 2016.

Fox News released the results of its new poll as US relations with China continued to be a focal point of the 2020 presidential election campaign.

Out in the country, Biden hold a 30 point lead among rural white voters while Biden has a 64 point lead among black voters.

Biden's favorability is far more encouraging with 48 per cent thinking favorably of the candidate and 46 percent unfavorably.

Besides, 50 percent approve of Trump's handling of the economy while 47 percent disapprove, compared to a 51 - 44 percent approval in April.

Separate filings with the Federal Elections Commission showed an increase in spending by Trump's Republican Party and only a small decrease in Democratic Party spending, signs that outlays around the November presidential contest continue in earnest despite the coronavirus pandemic.

Biden has a national lead of 5.5 points in RealClearPolitics' polling average.

The poll discloses that Trump's favorability ranking is in adverse region with 43 percent citizens have a favorable point of view of him and 55 percent adverse.
