Atletico Madrid offer Arsenal three players for Lacazette

Arsenal captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is close to signing a new contract after holding talks with the club, manager Mikel Arteta said Thursday.

Arsenal rejected the offer back in January though and are under no pressure to sell Lacazette, who still has just under two years remaining on his current contract.

As reported by Arsenal's official website, Arteta said: 'Well, we have some talks and Dani knows really well what I think about him.

But Arteta has now shown a way back for Guendouzi, telling the player that he will be treated the same as any of his team-mates in the new season, which starts for Arsenal when they meet Liverpool in Saturday's Community Shield.

The Sun then claimed that Gabriel had passed his medical and the players agent, Guilherme Miranda, told journalist Freddie Paxton that his client had turned down more lucrative offers to join Arsenal. You all know we've been following him for a long time and we hope we can get it done.

"Sometimes that in the last final stages it is not as easy as it looks, but again we are pretty positive that we can do it".

"We are trying to finalise the deal, that's what I can tell you at the moment".

"I am pretty confident we will find an agreement soon, that's my feeling".

Guendouzi hasn't featured for the Gunners since a June 20 defeat to Brighton, a game in which he clashed with Seagulls striker Neal Maupay immediately after full-time.

The midfielder ended the season training away from the senior squad, while the club's highest-paid player Ozil did not play a single minute after the coronavirus hiatus.

That last bit is important because although Ceballos might want to stay at Arsenal, Real Madrid clearly have a big say in the matter.

Asked if he had spoken specifically to Guendouzi having publicly questioned his attitude, Arteta replied: "Yes".
