After speculations, the company has confirmed that the ROG Phone 2 will be launched on 23rd July in China, as we had earlier reported. The poster confirms the location and timing when Asus will showcase its upcoming smartphone and since Tencent Games is clearly mentioned on the poster, we could see something surprising at the launch event. The company has also started sending out media invites for the launch event and has also started promotional activities around the phone.

Now, let's take a closer look at the specifications and other aspects of the ASUS ROG Phone 2. In a post on Chinese micro-blogging site, Weibo, on Thursday, the company said that the device will be announced alongside the X570 motherboard series and the 30th anniversary PRIME X299 Edition 30 motherboard. The phone shall also offer the users with RGB lighting, 4K 60FPS video recording, liquid cooling and many more.

Asus launched its gaming smartphone, ROG Phone in June a year ago. According to Asus, the screen will allow for a "more refreshing experience" in games that are optimized for screens with super-high refresh rates. The Asus ROG Phone 2 phone will be the successor of the ROG phone.

We have been hearing about the ASUS ROG Phone 2 for quite a while now.

Keeping the last-gen ROG smartphone in tab, the next-gen ROG 2 must feature the latest Snapdragon 855 octa-core chipset along with at least 6GB RAM and 128GB of internal storage at the minimum although we have seen phones with maximum 12GB RAM and 512GB of internal storage so we could see a number of storage variants with the Asus ROG 2 as well. It features a 12 MP + 8 MP dual camera setup and a selfie camera of 8 MP. The phone also received certifications from US FCC, Wi-Fi Alliance, and China's 3C recently.
