Anthony Davis reacts to Lakers trading for Dennis Schroder

Los Angeles Lakers star Anthony Davis has reportedly declined his player option, allowing him to become an unrestricted free agent.

Spurs wing DeMar DeRozan will return to San Antonio for the 2020-21 season as he's elected to pick up his player option worth $27.7 million, Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports reports.

DeRozan, 31, initially signed his five-year, $137.5-million contract with the Toronto Raptors ahead of the 2016-17 season.

As Davis expressed above, Schroder was one of the best players in the entire National Basketball Association last season coming off the bench. But he was a valuable contributor during the playoffs and helped the Lakers win the championship.

Additional free agent Los Angeles Lakers could include Rajon Rondo, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and Avery Bradley, Dwight Howard, Markief Morris.

Said deal is expected to include Thunder also acquiring Lakers' No. 28 pick on Wednesday's 2020 National Basketball Association draft and possibly Lakers guard Danny Green.

The Lakers could look to get back into the draft in the second round, which would be similar to what they did a year ago when they acquired second-round pick Talen Horten-Tucker from the Orlando Magic for a 2020 second-round choice and cash.
