COVID-19 Vaccine Eligibility Set To Expand To All US Adults By Mid-April : Coronavirus Updates

"We've reached 150 million shots in arms since entering government and that by April 19, all adult Americans will be eligible to get the vaccine", Psaki stated.

"We aren't at the finish line".

The number of new cases are going up and hospitalisation too has increased, Biden rued. "Get the vaccination when you can". "On our way of hitting our goal off 200 million shots by the 100th day in office".

President Biden's announcement that USA adults will be eligible for coronavirus vaccines by April 19 comes after multiple media outlets cast doubt on former President Donald Trump's 2020 claim there would be enough vaccines for adults by this month. However, both Moderna and Pfizer produced two-dose shots as part of the program that began getting distributed in December, although Trump fell short of his goal of 20 million vaccinations distributed by the end of 2020.

Harris praised the workers and those receiving their vaccine at a site set up at a local union hall, and spoke of spring as "a moment where we feel a sense of renewal". "The real question is how much death, disease, and misery are we going to see between now and then".

"You are America. America is a nation of immigrants, that's who we are".

Biden expressed hope that every adult will be eligible by 19 April to sign up and get in a virtual line to be vaccinated, that will help expand access and distribution of the vaccine.

Most states have either made vaccines available to all residents 16 and older or announced plans to do so by mid-April.

But eligibility isn't the same as actually being vaccinated.

Biden said previous year most Americans would not get a vaccine until "well" into 2021. "That doesn't mean they will get it that day".

Texas Governor Greg Abbott, a Republican, issued an order Tuesday forbidding state agencies or any entity receiving public money from requiring vaccine passports.
