Alexandra Daddario, Ashley Benson and Alexandra Shipp among actresses on

A few people stand in the darkness, afraid to step into the light.
Not these actresses though, who are ready to slip into A few sexy red swimsuits for the new Baywatch reboot, according to Deadline. Not possible so it's easy to see why a number of female stars are auditioning for roles in the big screen remake.
Casting the net far and wide, the shortlist includes an array of talent from across film and television, with Pretty Little Liars star Ashley Benson, Alexandra Daddario - possibly paving the way for a San Andreas reunion with Dwayne Johnson - and X-Men: Apocalypse breakout Alexandra Shipp.
Daddario previously appeared with Johnson in San Andreas, so not only does she have a working familiarity with the actor, but she's got A few action chops under her belt.
The upcoming big screen version of the classic '90s TV series is also set to star Zac Efron, and has recently begun its search for A few leading ladies.
Alexandra Shipp starred in Nickelodeon's House of Anubis and Straight Outta Compton; Shelley Hennig now stars in Teen Wolf and the movie Unfriended; While Bianca Santos had a recurring role in The Fosters and this year's The Duff. The film follows a very austere veteran lifeguard (Johnson) who must team up with a younger, but more perverse lifeguard (Efron) in order to save their beach from the oil tycoons who threaten its well-being.
Seth Gordon, a director well-versed in comedy after his work on terrible Bosses and Identity Thief, will helm the picture, which will centre around an accomplished former Olympian (presumably Johnson) who squabbles with the leader of a cocky but superior team of lifeguards. Also, the premiere date is yet to be determined pending the official start of the film's production.
