Xiaomi Redmi 4A will be Amazon exclusive, launches on March 20

While the Redmi 4 with Snapdragon 430 and the Redmi 4 Prime with Snapdragon 625 care selling in China, both these phones with similar specs are already available as Redmi 3S and the Redmi Note 4 respectively. Although then, the smartphones listed on the e-commerce site was being sold by an unknown seller going by the name 'Generic (Unbranded)'. Moreover, the flash sales commence only on Wednesday and only limited units are available, which makes it more of a task to buy one for yourself.

Xiaomi had launched the Redmi Note 4 in three variants - the 2GB RAM/ 32GB inbuilt storage model has been priced at Rs. 9,999, the 3GB RAM/ 32GB storage model has been priced at Rs. 10,999, while the 4GB RAM/ 64GB storage model has been priced at Rs. 12,999.

Thus, the Chinese upstart has finally chose to sell the Redmi Note 4 in the offline market as well. The phone is now on sale for offline customer in limited cities. Redmi Note 4 would retail from MRP INR 11,499 onwards in LFRs and offline stores from 17 and 22 March respectively.

Xiaomi has recently announced in a press conference that large format retailers and selected outlets in northern region will get the first hang of Redmi Note 4 starting from 18th of March, Saturday.

The reason behind this move is pretty predictable.

When Xiaomi introduced the Redmi Note 3 a year ago, it wowed consumers with a premium design, competitive specifications, and a low price.

With this move, the company is trying to capture a bigger market share in the Indian market. Albeit not in the form of an entirely new product, but in the form of a new variant of an available product.

The 8.45mm slim metal body design smartphone comes with the new MIUI 8 and Android 7.0 Nougat updates, and a 2.5D curve glass to compliment its 5.5-inch full HD display.

Moving onto the camera department, the Redmi 4A packs a 13-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera.
