Xiaomi folding smartphone allegedly exposed in video leak

Evan Blass strikes again: the notable tech leaker tweeted a video of what could be an upcoming Xiaomi tri-folding smartphone.
Shot in darkness, the video appears to show what at first is a tablet, but with that tablet later folding at two hinges, revealing something more akin to a phone. Blass says that the person who supplied the video claims the device is made by Xiaomi, but there is no official branding seen in the video to base that claim on.
The device's text language is Chinese script, but there is nothing in the video that actually confirms it as being a Xiaomi-made phone.
Google has announced native support in Android for foldables and has said to expect several new foldable Android devices, which will have either two screens or one screen. Samsung has already teased its foldable phone, with Microsoft also expected to launch its much-awaited Andromeda foldable device sometime this year. It's hardly surprising that sales figures seem to be on the decline then, but rather than addressing the latter, phone designers seem to be tripping over themselves to fix the former with a new range of tablets that fold into phones.
The video shows a user folding a tablet in landscape mode into a palm-sized gadget.
Samsung showed off the foldable phone prototype in early November, although the phone's design was hidden in a bulky case.
Samsung mobile boss DJ Koh is convinced we need a foldable phone.
