WWE SmackDown Ratings, Viewership (10/3/17): Numbers Back Down This Week

Prior to making his way to the ring, McMahon was stopped by Sami Zayn, who cautioned the SmackDown commissioner about what Owens is capable of doing. During the segment, Owens was cutting a promo in the ring while McMahon was walking through the crowd to get back to ringside. Throughout the course of their rivalry, the SmackDown Tag Team Championships have changed hands several times and every match seems to be an instant classic. The New Day riled up the crowd by basically promising that the teams will tear the house down in Detroit on Sunday, and The Usos made it clear that this was still their division despite the fact that they did not hold the titles. Join me for live coverage on Sunday beginning with the Kickoff Show at 6CT/7ET.

The last time WWE was in India was in January 2016 with shows in Delhi.

At SummerSlam, Jinder Mahal continued to surprise the WWE Universe by successfully retaining the WWE Championship against Shinsuke Nakamura, thanks to the help of the Singh Brothers. There is no match I want to see more on the show, and SmackDown has done a great job keeping fans interested in a hot rivalry despite the fact that it's been lengthened to such an extreme degree.

Then the Singh Brothers' music hit and introduced the Modern Day Maharaja, who attacked Nakamura from behind. Mahal then hit Nakamura with the Khallas and showed that he is ready to defend his title. The truth is that SmackDown only really has two worthy tag teams, unlike Raw which has five (when all parties are healthy).

Next up was Baron Corbin vs. Tye Dillinger.

Carmella then hit Lynch with the Money in the Bank briefcase outside the ring, which caused enough of a distraction for Natalya to put Charlotte in the Sharpshooter for the submission victory.

Also, Ziggler promised that the glorious one would be out-fought at Hell In A Cell. Dolph Ziggler then made a decision to interrupt with another mock entrance, promising Roode that that he'd see an entrance that he'd never seen before at Hell In A Cell (R10 says it's Roode's own entrance). Nakamura battled back, but eventually, the three on one odds were too much for the King of Strong Style to overcome.

After having his serenade ruined by Randy Orton's gate-crashing of Rusev's pride of Bulgaria celebration last week, Aiden English wanted some payback.

-AJ Styles vs. Baron Corbin for the U.S. Championship.
