The sheriff said authorities checked an Elkton home after the shooting, but Prince was not there. The victims and the suspect worked for Advanced Granite Solutions, the owner of the company said. A reunification point for families was established at the Richlin Ballroom on Edgewood Road. A former co-worker sought a restraining order against Prince in February, saying he had punched another employee and threatened employees.

Fire burning in Santa Cruz Mountains
Elsewhere, about 150 households have been evacuated after a wildfire broke out in the Santa Cruz mountains in the southern San Francisco Bay Area. The blaze is threatening some 150 homes, mostly in the rural community of Las Cumbres. Evacuation orders are in effect for Deer Creek Road, Rons Road, Dons Road, Lost Valley Road, Favre Ridge and Oak Ridge. The residents have sought shelter in Lakeside Elementary School in Los Gatos and in Zayante Fire Station.

Though California is the first state to allow a nonbinary gender option on birth certificates, both OR and Washington, D.C., have given residents the option to select a third gender option on driver's licenses. The law also will allow people to be able to change their gender identity on their birth certificates.
